Here at My Father’s Mustache in Cookeville, Tennessee, we are proud partners with many organizations that allow different apprenticeship and associate programs to be facilitated through our salon company. We have the privilege of being recognized as a state-of-the art training facility. This is really neat because it allows us to partner with various organizations including Tennessee Youth Employment Program (TYEP) where high school students can work after school and on weekends up to so many hours to get a taste of if our industry is right for them. We also partner with Empower Upper Cumberland, which is an awesome program that allows lower income participants to better themselves by gaining employment and workforce experience with opportunities such as guest specialists, associates, stylist, etc. Another great program we offer is assistance to individuals through Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and also through TN Workforce Development Program where nail techs, barbers, and stylists can receive their Masters in their field. Last but not least, we have our own “In House” Associate program where new stylists can work directly under an educator for approximately 12 weeks as they gain the confidence of navigating the workplace after having just graduated from school.
Whether it’s a young high school student, a single parent, perhaps a person with limited or different abilities, a current or recent graduate of cosmetology or barber school, or a stylist on the team who is looking to further their education and career, we have programs available to most all situations for the benefit of our employees and our community. We are proud to offer apprenticeship opportunities through My Father’s Mustache, where we will always value education, training, and mentorship for all people who are open to learning and growing in their careers.
